Hurricane’s Harvey and Irma have caused extensive damage across Texas, Florida and the Caribbean. These natural disasters force people into horrible conditions and situations that most of us cannot begin to understand. But with every devastating, seemingly hopeless event comes a lot of good deeds that lift everyone’s spirits.
It has been remarkable to watch the positive action that has come out of this devastation. You see people from all walks of life coming together to support those affected by these disasters. In the hospitality industry, we have seen numerous acts of compassion from restaurants across the country who have stepped up to offer support for those who need it most.
Below are some business that we are very proud to partner with who have offered assistance in some form or another that we want to recognize:
Pizza Hut: Employees in Sugar Land, TX delivered pizzas by kayak to effected residents in the area.
The Ace Hotel: Created a new margarita for their menu at locations across the country, and for each one purchased, is donating $1 to the Greater Houston Community Foundation.
Susie Cakes: They donated $1 from each red velvet cupcake sold Sept. 1-4 to the Red Cross.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Matching up to $100,000 of customers in-house donations to the Red Cross.
Chipotle: They are donating and delivering 50,000 pounds of food to volunteers for the Red Cross telethon.
